It is only when we forget all our learning that we begin to know.

With a passion for life and a quest for discovering new things I present to you a taste of my life experience from my first 50 years of living with the anticipation of there being many more years of discovery and growth.

I consider myself very blessed for the life experience of an early childhood and youth, growing up on the island of Grenada (gra-NEH-da), West Indies.

My life experience since coming to the United States includes 4 years served in the US Navy and 20+ years in Commercial Aviation as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician.  I have a BA degree in Religion and Graphic Design and a passion for music.  I’ve studied Classical Guitar and love music of all genres.

Other hobbies/interests include being a mobile DJ, working on my boat which I live on, enjoying the company of my wonderful dogs and just learning and discovering through whatever medium presents itself.

Do join me on me journey of documenting my life-experiences; both from the past and yet to come.

  1. “Grenada” caught my eye while scanning through my Reader because I was back on active duty then so I naturally wanted to see the rest on the story. And I hope you’ll have more to say on this since you have a unique perspective.

On another note, something I only picked up on this morning, your Navy service. Well, I’d known you served (thanks for the comment on Cradle of Liberty) but hadn’t connected it so fully to my history. My father was an ADC who crew chiefed on a P2 squadron out of Puerto Rico – before Grenada – but then in retirement was in maintenance with an East Coast airline. It’s always interesting how parts of one person’s life weaves in and out of the lives of others forming little connections. Again, thanks for your service.

I’ll probably be back at some later date to comment on my “boat envy” – the boatswain’s mate in me rearing his head.

    • Thanks & thanks for your service too. My Dad was a Bosun’s Mate in WWII – I was an AT3. I do have more to say on the Grenada stuff and hope to at some time -the full story is complicated – Maurice would have been voted in had he had elections -his second in command was evil and hated by most -Maurice though Socialist in essence was also interested in US relations -the timing of the invasion was everything – it was popular with most Grenadians because Maurice had just been assassinated by Coard’s people. Maurice will always be a hero in Grenada – and the USA for the most part is welcomed by most because of the timing. My understanding of the invasion from those I’ve heard from in the military is that it was one of the first truly joint service operations and one of the least prepared for. A great victory for Reagan and Grenada alike but more by chance than by plan. I know I am extremely grateful for the Americans coming in. So thank you for your part in that :). if you take a look at my photography page on the photo101 assignment for home my boat, Higgins boat from WWII is pictured 🙂 . I plan to do a couple of pages on it on my regular site once it’s up and running.
